Protein bars?
I am trying to eat healthier, watch my sugar intake, protein intake, and carb intake. I sampled a pure protein bar with 19 grams of protein, 2 grams of sugar, & 20 grams of carbs and total of 180 calories. Basically, it is the same amount of calories as a regular candy bar. Should I even bother with protein bars or try different supplements? I would like some good input from people who know a little about nutrition and weight loss. Thanks.
Yes, don't bother with protein bars because candy bars are much healthier, with 20 g of sugar, no other carbs, no protein, and 10 g of fat.
Another idiotic statement I've heard - Nuts are high in calories and fat, so let's have potato chips instead.
Yet another - Fruits are high in sugar so let's have chocolate instead.
They didn't actually say it like that but from the way they were talking it seemed like that's exactly what they meant. What you said has just entered my collection of idiotic statements.
